It left me angry that such a situation could ever have happened and happy that we are hopefully much more aware of child abuse today. No child should ever be subjected to the debilitating and life crippling effects of abuse, but the book is also a wonderful story of strength and healing in its aftermath.Book: Death Note by Tsugumi OhbaRecommended by: Becky, Children’s LibrarianThis is a chilling story of a brilliant – and bored – teenage boy who finds a notebook dropped by a shinigami (Japanese Death God). He quickly discovers that anyone whose name is written in the notebook dies, and decides to use it to rid the world of evil people.
